My high school environmental science class is thinking of boycotting our local Jamba Juice to force them to switch container. I called the shift manager and asked her about the cup’s material: she talked a bit about ‘product quality’ and freezing time, rippage risk etc. She also said they use Polystrene, which is technically but rarely practically recyclable. I plan to call the store manager tomorrow, but shall I talk to him, or the headquarters first? Additionally, Seattle has outlawed Styrofoam, so Jamba locations just across the water have switched to paper, yet company policy forbids its suburb location to make that switch. Got any suggestions or connections to make this an effective boycott?
