Time Warner Starts the Campaign: Rollover or Get Tough

Update 12-20-09: I just saw a full-page add in the local paper saying Time Warner was being unfair about not showing FoxNews without a rate increase. Puleeze. This is just the channel that would have me voting FOR TWC.

Time Warner Cable has a site ( http://www.rolloverorgettough.com/) where they are asking the customer to vote:

” You Can’t Get a 300% Raise. Why Should a TV Network?

These days, every dollar counts. And for most families, cable TV provides the best entertainment value for the money.

But some of our contracts with program providers are up at the end of this year – and they’ve demanded as much as 300% more for their shows. Even worse, they’re threatening to pull the plug if we don’t pay their price.

In today’s economy, a 300% price increase is excessive. And withholding popular programming is unfair to America’s families – especially over the upcoming holidays.

Don’t let these TV networks hold your TV hostage. Together, we just might make a difference in what America pays for TV.”

What do you think? Do we care what TWC pays for network programming? Or should we let them take it off TWC. I’m with that satellite company now, but I’m none to happy with them either.

Yep, they should roll over and pay their content partners what they ask, and finance the cost by slashing executive compensation.

Don’t cave in to Corporate GREED.It’s time to take a stand and show that the consumer has had enough!!

  • Bob Herold

Yes, we want FOX. No, we do not want a 300% increase. You put us between a rock and a hard spot. What is the actual numeric value of the increase? A 300% increase in one channel will not increase our bill by 300% because Fox is only one of many channels you provide us. What will the increase to our bill be? That’s the real question. If you have any smarts, you should be able to negotiate an equitable solution.

Get tough. Tell Fox to take their programs and shove them.
We pay enough for cable. I can’t afford to pay anymore than I am already paying. Besides not all the good programs are on Fox. I don’t watch Fox that much that I would miss it if they pull their programs.

  • wayne warner

300% increase is 295% too much!

  • George Acosta

I will discontinue my service if you do not roll over. I find fox news the only news that informs us of what is really going on in this government. I only wish that all stations would do the same.

  • Kay Basham

This is a hoax by Time-Warner!!! It’s just another liberal trick to make people think that Fox is at fault. Don’t believe a word of it. Fox news will definitely be warned and will clear this up. I can’t believe so many people are susceptible to tricks like this,. Don’t you know they don’t want us to watch Fox because they report the real news. Wake up, Folks!!!!!!

  • Lois Hill

Cable already costs too much. I’ve been considering going to satellite and I will if TWC drops Fox. I won’t pay TWC any more – Fox or no Fox.

It’s not about liberal/conservative, it’s about raw greed. Very simple. I’d switch to Grande Communications if I could.

Time Warner needs to offer individual program choices to customers! I watch maybe 12 channels but have to pay for a bunch of crap I never watch but have no choice because of bundling of programs. Maybe the customer needs to get tough with Time Warner!
